Smail Auto Group’s Food Drive Competition Returns—Who Will Win the Coveted Smail 500 Trophy?
There’s excitement in the air at Smail Auto Group as the beloved Smail 500 food drive competition is back for another year! Each dealership location is revving up for a friendly-yet-fierce rivalry, all for a good cause: collecting nonperishable food donations to benefit the Westmoreland Food Bank and make the holiday season brighter for families in need.
From the Honda store—where Justin Thompson boasts more full food bins than new Civics on the lot—to the brand new Smail Kia showroom, every crew is eager to outdo one another. “[We need to fill this place full of food donations… and you can drop off your donations or even just come in and see our beautiful building],” encouraged Nick Hotchkiss and Izzy Peagler, who have their eyes on displaying the coveted Smail 500 trophy in their gleaming new facility.
Not to be outdone, Maya at Smail Ford and Lincoln is rallying the Greensburg community again—last year, their donation bin was filled over eight times! Meanwhile, the Pre-Owned Center 2 team, reigning champions in past years, are determined to reclaim their title and prove they’re still the top food drive pit crew.
Corinne at the Collision Center is inviting everyone over to help “make sure our community can have a delicious holiday season,” while Bill Campana at GMC puts out a heartfelt call: “This year seems to be like a year that we really need to step it up for these folks.” He urges everyone to “please donate, donate, donate” as the need in the local area continues to grow.
And at Smail Mazda, Braden isn’t just waiting for donations from the public—he’s roping in staff to make sure they top last year’s record. The friendly smack talk and strategies are all in good fun, but the mission is very real.
As some locations, like Mercedes-Benz, race into the lead with an early influx of donations, the spirit of the Smail 500 is clear: it’s about community, generosity, and bringing everyone together to help others.
With food bins filling fast and some serious dealership pride on the line, the big question remains—who will take home the Smail 500 trophy this year? Let the competition (and giving!) begin, and don’t forget to drop off your nonperishable goods at your favorite Smail location.
