Honda’s Massive Contribution Boosts Team Blue Smail 500 First Week

November 22nd, 2024 by

Welcome back to the 2024 Smail 500, where automotive teams are racing not for speed, but for life-saving donations to local food banks. As we wrapped up the first week, it was clear that the competition is fierce and the stakes are high. This week, we looked for canned meats and meals, which earned double points, and canned fruits and vegetables for single points. Each team stepped up, but it was Team Blue, led by Smail Honda, that made a smashing debut.

Honda’s Heroics

Smail Honda, representing Team Blue, emerged as the week’s heavy hitter with an astounding 732 points. Driven by the spirit of giving and a touch of competitive edge, Team Honda swarmed Aldi’s, practically clearing the shelves of canned tuna to rake in those valuable double points. Justin from Team Honda emphasized the significance of everyone’s effort and the collective push towards making a difference. The team’s strategic focus on double-point items gave them a sizable lead, setting a high bar for the following weeks.

Team Blue’s Momentum

It wasn’t just Honda making waves; Smail Acura also made a notable contribution with 600 points. Combining canned meats, fishes, and vegetables, they showed an all-around effort that kept Team Blue ahead. Smail Ford and Lincoln, with a commendable 518 points, added more fuel to Blue’s lead, proving that teamwork and strategic purchasing pay off.

Even the collision center and Pre Owned Center 2 chipped in, scoring 200 and 512 points respectively. With contributions coming in from various corners, Team Blue’s momentum seems unstoppable.

Team Red’s Strong Start

On the other side of the competition, Team Red showed resilient spirit and strong beginnings. At Smail BDC, Anderson and his team gathered 140 points, emphasizing the importance of community support and the company’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy. Smail Buick GMC, with Michael leading the charge, brought in an impressive 419 points. Smail Mazda and Smail Kia also made significant contributions with 400 and 345 points respectively.

Moving Forward

Next week, the focus shifts to box meals and cereals, items that are equally crucial for families in need. Both teams have hinted at secret plans and strategies to up their game, and it’s evident that this competition is just heating up.

As Team Blue takes the lead, thanks largely to Honda’s massive contribution, the race is far from over. Team Red is plotting its comeback, and with box meals and cereals on deck, it’s still anyone’s game. The collective effort of all Smail employees, whether through direct donations or strategic shopping, highlights the spirit of community and the impactful legacy of Smail’s 85 years in service.

Stay tuned for next week’s update, and don’t forget to make your contributions.
